Northern California Treatment Services is a substance abuse treatment program in Oroville, California. We provide services to approximately 80 persons in 15 houses throughout the community of South Oroville. On occasion, due to special extenuating circumstances, we are asked to provide services free of charge. Providing a “charity bed” costs the program $550 per month. We seek a grant to defray the cost of this care and treatment in the amount of $6,600 for a year or any portion thereof. This will help us provide needed services to a special situation where services will not be able to be obtained otherwise. Our website is www.norcaltreatment.org. Introduction Our Mission The mission of NCTS is to successfully rehabilitate persons suffering from drug and alcohol addiction and to prevent remission through an environment that fosters recovery. We provide education, basic living skills and encourage spiritual values to bring about positive changes in family life, community involvement and in themselves. Our goal is to return our clients to independence from the influences of drugs and alcohol where they can function in a positive manner with their families and be contributing members of society. We offer outpatient services, group and individual counseling, and sober living environments. Outpatient services are offered to clients who require specialized treatment without continuous supervision. Services include treatment assessments, individual counseling sessions, specialized treatment planning, weekly drug screening, and representation in the judicial system and referral services. Our sober living environment services provide a transitional livingprogram which is highly structured with strong supervision and support. Clients in the SLE program must attend weekly 12-step meetings, sign in-out, complete daily chores and follow rules and procedures.Ourprogram is designed to provide maximum structure and support. In our treatment program, our clients are "blacked out" for the first 30 days to minimize any contact with former associates that might bring negative influences and to allow them to focus on treatment goals. Group and individual counseling, family groups, vocational training and living skills are provided. The Sober Living Environment Program is designed to allow more freedom than residential treatment but is still highly structured and controled. SLE allows the structure of a residential treatment program. Clients must attend the twelve step program, sign in and out of the program, complete daily chores and follow SLE policies and procedures. Ourtreatment services program isdesigned to assist men and women in developing and using recovery tools to become productive members of society. We encourage men and women to begin looking for work or to enroll in college, adult education or vocational training. Treatment commences with a 30 day "black out" period where the client becomes familiar with the program without external distractions or influences. During this time, clients are allowed only communication with legal agencies and minor children in order to ensure that focus is on treatment goals. Treatment consists of 20-50 hours of weekly educational and therapeutic group and individual counseling, family group and vocational training. Our Grant request On occasion, situations arise that require that we provide our services at no cost. It may be that a client is so desperate for help and has no way to pay or it may be requested of us to help. There are cases where perhaps a mother with a substance abuse problem is going to be sent to prison, her children taken from her and she has no way to pay for treatment. Or, we may get politely asked to provide services from the court, the DA or Probation and Parole, due to special situations. Because of these special arrangements, we provide what we call a charity bed. The cost of the program is $550 per month, $6,600 per year. We seek sources to help pay the cost of this care. A grant of $6,600 will provide a bed for a year or any portion thereof will support a cilient for a shorter period of time. It is of huge benefit to our program.
